Personal Bio
Birth Date:7/10/1955
Occupation:Medical Laboratory Shipping Supervisor
Marital Status:Married for 29 years to Virginia (Ginny)

Powerlifting Bio
Began Powerlifting:My first meet was the 1975 Tampa Open, where I placed third at 148. Grew up through six weight classes and enjoyed some success before retiring from lifting. Got the bug again in 2005 and have thoroughly enjoyed competing as a master lifter.
Federations:AAU, USPF, ADFPA and USAPL. The USAPL is tops for standardizing equipment, consistent judging and doing their best to promote drug free lifting. It is definitely the most professional Powerlifting Federation.
Weight:I have competed at 148, 181, 198, 220, 242 and 275. At this stage of the game, 220 feels like the healthiest weight for me.
Best Lifts:The lifts I'm actually most proud of aren't really related to powerlifting. A backlift of 2,125 lbs and a seated press behind the neck 255x6.
Weighing 263 lb, in 1984, I squatted 655, benched 429 and deadlifted 595 in competition. (slightly more in the gym) As a 220 lb Master, my best are 435-308-501.
Goals:To exceed the 50-54 NC state records in the squat and total before Bill Schmidt turns fifty and puts them up where nobody can get close.
Inspiration:The lifters that inspired me when starting out were Precious McKenzie, Ron Collins, Larry Pacifico, Larry Kidney and Don Reinhoudt.
Coaches that provided guidance: Ed Gillie and Dick Armatrout.
Training partners from days gone by: Terry Allyn and Mike Nobles.
Powerlifting Quote:Our journey, with strength as the goal, must be traveled with integrity and dignity.
Thanks:To my handler, nutritionist and coach; my wife Ginny.
